  Route

An essential component of the notification file, this involves the route between :

  • the Departure Point = place where the waste was produced (Section 9 of Annex IA)
  • and the Arrival Point = place where the waste will be treated (Section 10 of Annex 1A)

Information regarding the route should be sufficiently detailed and clear and accompanied by a map, allowing the reviewer to clearly identify where border crossings will take place.
It should specify the road route, total distance (in km) and if possible the duration of the journey.

If alternative routes have also been planned, the notifier should provide the same information for these routes while also indicating that they are variations of the main route.

The route should match the entry and exit points indicated in section 15c of Annex 1A.

REMINDER : adherence to the route indicated in the file is one of the conditions for approval.

  Transport safety measures

Where measures need to be taken to ensure transport safety (usually in the case of hazardous waste) :

  • in section 7 of Annex 1A, tick the box indicating special handling requirements
  • attach a list of these measures to the file (also referred to as “ADR written instructions”)".

In the event that the route changes after approval has been granted

For route changes/addition of transit countries => the PNTTD must be informed : see point 2 of the section on post-approval modifications.
